Black Cat Down – Operation Be Nice To
Mohammed Then Maybe He’ll Stop Mortaring Us’s high point |
Picture1
Under cover of darkness Private Jessica Lynched risked her life to save to life
of an Iraqi boy’s pet cat, named Mustafa.
"The poor thing had fallen into the Tigris River and I had to think fast." |

"At first I had trouble finding Mustafa — it was very dark,
and his body was cooler than normal because the water was cold. But
thanks to my excellent night vision, I soon saw him, and I scooped
him up and swum to shore. Mustafa had swallowed a lot of water and
was close to hypothermia, so I gave him CPR." Thankfully Mustafa
pulled through, and was returned to his rightful owner.

Mustafa’s owner,
who didn’t want to give his name was overjoyed to have his precious
Mustafa returned alive and well. According to an army translator,
the boy’s comments on the daring nighttime rescue (roughly translated)
were: "Private Jessica Lynched is awesome.
I can’t stop thinking about Private Jessica Lynched. She’s cool.
And by cool, I mean totally sweet."
