Buffoon — one man’s descent into war madness.

As a young, naïve, college graduate Tony Bliar, played with a constant nervous grin, enters a war he believed in, a war that was just and nothing whatsoever to do with oil.

He comes under the wing of Sergeant Claude van Powell, a seemingly reluctant war veteran. He soon sees the scale of his commitment to war when he encounters Sergeant Ripper Bush, a gung ho, uncouth Texan. Bliar is involved in the massacres committed by Ripper’s deadly gang, including Private D Rumsfeld, a real livewire.

By the end of the film Bliar, with a weary, aged look and a receding hairline, has lost his naivety, lost his power and gained a thousand yard stare.
